The Mark Twain Memorial's main goal is to preserve the Clemens family Hartford home for generations to come and to foster an appreciation of the legacy of Mark Twain as one of the nation's defining cultural figures, and to demonstrate the continuing relevance of his work, life and times.
They are constantly working to restore The Mark Twain House to the time when the Clemens family lived here, through donations, volunteers and paid memberships and tours. Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain) is a fabulous historic figure who cherished his Hartford home and his family. The house is a testimony to stylish living of the day.
